FOUR!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been away from blogland for so long. School let out, and I found myself working overtime as Mom. I hope to get back to visiting all of you more regularly now that I've adapted to the summer schedule (and thank goodness for summer camp next week!)

I'm working on another Personality Theory post. It should be ready for posting by next week, so I hope you'll all stay tuned. (**keeping fingers crossed**) But in the meantime, I decided to steal a quick, easy (or so it seemed) meme which was making the blog rounds several weeks ago.

Here's my take on the Four Things Meme:

Four Movies You Can See Over and Over

Harry Potter (all of them)
Lord of the Rings
Grease (silly, I know, but it was my first favorite... )
Somewhere in Time (love the soundtrack!)

Four Places You Have Lived

Pennsylvania
Delaware

(I only have two)

Four TV Shows You Love(d) to Watch

American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance (I thought I'd lump the reality shows together)
Little House on the Prairie (I was addicted when I was 10)
Star Trek
The Twilight Zone

Four Places You Have Been on a Vacation

Germany
Disney World (Florida)
Ocean City, NJ
Chincoteague, VA

Four of your favorite foods

dark chocolate (especially 70%)
wild mushrooms
almonds
tea

Four Websites You Visit Daily

The Leaky Cauldron
The Clarity of Night (and as many blogs as I can)
Yahoo
Youtube

Four Places You Would Rather Be

On a boat, saltwater fishing
Riding a rollercoaster
At our cabin
Hogwarts (only Muggles think it's fiction...)

Four Things You Hope to Do Before You Die

See the cave paintings in Lascaux, France
Visit the pyramids of Egypt
Hold my grandchild
Follow through on at least one of my crazy therapy/career ideas

Four Novels/Books You Wish You Were Reading for the First Time
(This was really hard. Well, other than the obvious first one... )

Harry Potter (the entire series)
What to Expect When You are Expecting (such an exciting time!)
a novel by Jason :)
Please Understand Me II (by David Keirsey)

I love your therapy ideas...those I know about it. Any person who loves wild mushrooms is a person worth knowing!

Yeah, I was feeling so nostaligic for the potter books today I watched a biography piece on the three main stars.

Funny, your books on the first time list are all books you've already read! It's that special first time feeling, huh? Enjoyed your meme. I share your AI/Dance addiction.

Hold your grandchild.... :)

Great list! It's nice to see your answers. And Jason is working on getting that novel out. ;)

You cracked me up with "Hogwarts (only Muggles think it's fiction...)"

Ha! We had teased so many other who had not read the Potter series, that they were muggles, back in school.
Practiced the dark arts on each other too.

And you've kept Harry Potter over Jason's novel. You REALLY love the series don't you?

And you watching Season 5 of So you Think You Can Dance?

I get to see it one day late. :(

Keep Voting for Melissa (naughty ballerina) and Evan from my side. :D

I love Mia and Napi-Tab's choreography. :D

Its so good to see you back. Now waiting for that personality post. :)

Linda~ Thank you! I appreciate the support. It's a bit daunting to break into a "non" physical rehab niche now that OT has become so strongly associated with that setting.

Oh, and, dare I tell, Jason and I have found the most yummy patches of chanterelle mushrooms on our cabin/mountain property!

Charles~ Now's a good time to feel that nostalgia. The media is all "Potterfied" this week! But, the movies don't hold a deluminator to the books, IMHO.

Catvibe~ :) Hi there! Sorry I've been so scarce... :(

Interesting point. I interpreted the meme to mean books that you wish you were reading for the first time again, rather than books that you have never read. Hm, maybe I did that one wrong. Oh well. ;)

See my response to Aniket for more SYTYCD!

Jason~ You'd better be there to witness it, too! ;)

And, no worries... I have patience (proven by the saltwater fishing mention, above). Sometimes the casting part takes longer than we'd like, but I know a big fish will take the (Fish) bait! LOL
:D

Aniket~ So good to see you!! I've really missed you guys (Cat, that goes for you too!)

Yes, I really love HP-- it's almost a sickness. :P I don't think I want to know how well you did with the dark arts. Sounds like Moody would've been proud! Did I ever mention that when our youngest daughter was 5 years old, she AK'd a man (big, burly construction worker) in Philadelphia during a Potter conference? He laughed at her wand work, and asked her what she did to him. She stood tall with hands on hips and loudly responded "I killed you." (Like, d'uh!, it's the killing curse!) :D :D :D (proud mommy moment!)

And I'm so with you on your Dance picks!! I'm surprised that you picked Evan, too! He's not the strongest dancer, but he was my early favorite. And Melissa!! Love that woman! Though, if I had to call it, I think I'm leaning towards Brandon and/or Janette (she could be the black horse of the competition, I think...)

I agree with your choreographer favs too. My girls love Sonja (quirky!), but my heart is with Mia. What I wouldn't give to use a time turner and have her teach a master class when I was in the college dance club!

Laughingwolf~ Got my (pre-ordered) tix for tonight! The midnight show wasn't an option with a 7 year old. We did that for Order of the Phoenix, so at least I experienced it once (in costume, too!) :)

Brandon is a great dancer. But I would still like to see Evan come second. Its about time a lady wins this and Melissa is my top favorite.

I like Janette quite a lot too. I even liked her last year when she couldn't make it after the auditions.

And oh How could I forget Sonja. She is a rock-star! Her routine of Mark and Courtney on THE GARDEN last year was my fav. She hasn't disappointed at all this year too.

But am so missing Chelsie Hightower. She still remains my fav. all 5 seasons combined. Her hips move master than lightning. No one come anywhere near her when she gets to do the Argentine Tango!

Aniket Thakkar said...

Oh and Robert Murraine is THE MAN!

And if I could just hear Cat Deeley talk for the rest of my lifetime... it would be life worth spent. I'm totally dig her. :D :D

You see there is no one here I could discuss all this with. No one watches it out here. In India they just started airing Season 4. Go figure!

Are you on twitter? Nigel, Adam and Lil C are great twitterers. They occasionally give inside info here and there too. :)

Great to see you back Aine!

Enjoyed reading your list. What part of Germany did you visit? Have you been to Munich?

I used to love rollercoasters but nowadays I'd prefer sitting on top of a mountain than on top of a rollercoaster. :-D

Great to see you back. I've been largely absent myself due to work draining my energy levels but school is out here next week and I can't wait to get my life back.

I can't say I share your enthusiasm for roller coasters but 70% chocolate and tea are two of my favourite things. And yes, I have lost count of the number of times I've seen Grease.

Janette and Jeanine are my favs of the girls. Brandon and Jason for the boys. Evan is pretty cute tho, I love it when he's doing his own thing, that Gene Kelly stuff is classic.

Aniket Thakkar said...

Phew. How could Melissa be in the bottom two??? I'm glad she didn't get fired.

But seriously, Travis' choreography was awesome or what?? :D

One of the best routines evver.

And Cat will probably be happy Janette and Jeanine have very high chances of making it to the top 4 now.

Last year. Their tour was coming to Wisconsin 11 days after I had to leave. Tickets were available too. I would have most certainly gone to see Chelsie, Twitchingtion and others. :(

Welcome back!

I'm also trying to get adjusted to the summer schedule. Trying also to read all the entries at Jason's...they're fun, but so many! I think I have 30 or so to go.
:-)

Aniket~ The kids and I sighed a great sigh of relief that Melissa didn't go home! I guess I should start voting, eh? The problem is that I usually tape the show so I can watch it with the kids the next day.

I had to look up Robert Murraine-- didn't remember the name, but yes, I remember him. He's got incredible flexibility! :)

I hope Travis gets an Emmy nomination for that choreography!

And, no-- I'm not on twitter. But, Lil C?? Do you need a dictionary to translate his tweets? :D

That's too bad you missed the live show last year. :(

Margaret~ :) My college roommate studied at the University of Bremen during our junior year, so I was able to visit her for two weeks that summer. In addition to Bremen, we travelled south to Wurzburg (I think) to visit my family (my grandmother's cousin and various extended family, etc.) I was able to visit the small village of Grab (northeast of Stuttgart) where my great grandmother was born and raised before she came to America at age 14. It was beautiful!

Janey~ So good to see you! I knew you've been busy, too. Glad a break is coming soon! And I'm so glad I'm not the only Grease fan around here. :)

Catvibe~ They are all so good this year! I agree about Evan. He's fantastic at his style, but he's not up to par with the others. I'm surprised he's survived this long, but I think he's had a huge fan base from the start.

Chris~ Hi!! You're ahead of me. I've got hours of reading to go. The kids start camp tomorrow, so I'm hoping to blast through the contest entries while the house is quiet. :)

my older daughter [26] is the biggest hp fan in the family, we'll likely see it together ;) lol

I love your list of fours, Aine! Very interesting... :-)

When doing some research for our trip to France, I looked up the cave paintings in Lascaux to see if we could possibly include them in our trip. I was very disappointed to find out that the original cave is closed to the public. All you can visit is Lascaux II, an artificial place with copies of the paintings... :-(

I'm looking for your another post on personality.
In the meantime I am amused by how many things we have in common ...
dark chocolate, LoTR, the pyramids, the Lascaux cave - although I am seriously disappointed by Vesper's submission in this matter :(

Aine said...

Laughingwolf~ Hope you and your daughter enjoyed it! (Though I'm guessing there's no chance that she didn't...!)

Vesper~ Oh no! :( I guess I'm not shocked, but I was hoping to be able to stand in a place that was touched by those early human fingers.

Szelsofa~ Just another thing in common: I'm seriously disappointed about Lascaux, too.
:(

I'm still working on the other personality post, I promise!
